Botox and Filler FAQ in Huntersville, NC

Botox and filler FAQ in Huntersville, NC: these are straight answers from me, Kat Chapman, BSN, RN, to the questions I hear most before someone books at Canvas & Glow on Sam Furr Road in Huntersville. If yours isn’t here, call or text (704) 584-9785. For treatment details, see all injectables.

Are you seeing patients?

Yes. I see patients at Canvas & Glow on Sam Furr Road in Huntersville. The best way in is to book a visit or request a free consultation.

Who does the injections?

I do. Every injectable is performed by me, Kat Chapman, BSN, RN, a licensed Registered Nurse with seven years of hospital and travel-nursing experience. Every treatment is done under the supervision of a medical director. My medical director has 23 years of practice and about 12 years in aesthetics.

What’s the difference between Botox and filler?

Botox and the other neurotoxins relax the muscles that crease skin into lines when you move. Filler adds volume or structure where the face has lost it. Many people need one, some need both, and the free consult is where we sort that out.

How much does it cost?

All neurotoxins are $13 per unit. Filler and biostimulators are quoted at consult. See the pricing page for area-by-area neurotoxin estimates. You’ll always know your exact cost at your free consultation, before anything is booked.

Does it hurt?

Most people describe neurotoxin as a few quick pinches. I use fine needles, and the injections take a few minutes. Filler takes a little longer, and we talk through numbing at your consult.

Is there downtime?

Most people go back to work the same day. A small bump, redness, or a bruise at an injection site is possible. Filler can leave swelling for a few days. If you have an event, book at least two weeks ahead.

How long does Botox last?

It settles at about two weeks. MedlinePlus notes cosmetic Botox for frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet may be repeated every 3 to 4 months, depending on how long the effect lasts. Your timing may differ, and we look at it at your follow-up.

How long does filler last?

Longer than neurotoxin, but it depends on the product, the area, and your body. I give you a realistic range at your consult instead of a promise here.

Is Botox safe? Will I look frozen?

Botox has decades of safety data when given properly by a licensed professional after a medical evaluation. As for frozen: not here. I dose conservatively, keep natural movement, and use your two-week follow-up to perfect the result rather than overdoing it on day one.

Is filler safe?

The FDA lists swelling and bruising among the most common filler side effects and says many clear up within days to weeks. The most serious risk is filler getting into a blood vessel. The FDA calls that chance low, but it can cause tissue damage or vision problems, which is why filler belongs with a licensed provider.

Who should wait?

Tell me at your consult if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, have a nerve or muscle condition, have an infection or rash where we’d treat, or have had a reaction to an injectable before. Some of those mean we wait, and some mean we skip it.

What happens at my first visit?

We start with a free consultation. I look at your face at rest and moving, go over your health history and goals, and give you a plan and a price. If you want to go ahead, most treatments take 20 to 30 minutes.

What’s the 2-week follow-up?

Two weeks after your treatment, once results have settled, you come back so I can check my work. If anything needs a touch, I adjust it at no charge. It’s included with every treatment.

What’s the guarantee?

If you’re not completely happy with your results, I adjust them at no charge at your two-week follow-up. No awkward conversations and no fees.

Do you offer mobile or group events?

Yes. I offer select in-home visits and small-group beauty events for you and your friends, under the supervision of a medical director, at standard pricing plus travel. See mobile Botox in Lake Norman.
