When you book with me, your treatment is done under the supervision of a medical director. I'm the licensed RN doing the injection, following physician-directed protocols. My medical director is a physician with 23 years of practice and about 12 years in aesthetics. That means a nurse and a physician both stand behind the plan for your face.
Filler is priced per syringe, and I quote it at your free consult once I've seen your lips and we've agreed on a plan. I don't publish filler dollar amounts that aren't on my menu, so you won't find a made-up number here. The pricing page explains how it works, and you get a specific estimate before anything is booked. Financing through Cherry and CareCredit is available for treatment plans.
Many people need less than they expect. Starting small is how I work anyway, and you can add more at your follow-up.
Lips are sensitive, so I won't pretend you'll feel nothing. Numbing cream goes on first, and some fillers already contain lidocaine, a numbing medicine. Most people tell me it was far easier than they expected. If you need a pause, we pause.
There's no single answer, and anyone who gives you one without looking at your lips is guessing. The FDA says how long a filler lasts depends on the filler material and where it's injected, and that absorbable fillers break down over time, so the treatment may need repeating to keep the look.
HA filler can usually be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if it ever needs to come out. That's a procedure with its own risks, but it means you're never stuck with a result you don't like.
Plan on a few days of swelling, and sometimes a bruise. The FDA lists swelling and bruising among the most common filler side effects and says many clear up within days to weeks. Your true shape shows at about two weeks, which is exactly when your included follow-up happens.
So don't book lips two days before a wedding, a big dinner, or photos. Give yourself at least two weeks. The FDA's dermal filler dos and don'ts also notes that swelling or redness can flare near filler after an illness, a vaccine, or dental work, so tell me if one of those is coming up.
We talk first. I look at your lips at rest and while you smile and talk, and we agree on a plan before I pick up a needle. Bring a photo if it helps, of your own lips from a few years ago or a shape you like. Then I build slowly and stop at natural. If you want more, we add it at your two-week follow-up instead of guessing on day one.
Some people who ask for filler really want the top lip to show a little more when they smile, without added volume. That's a lip flip, a few units of Botox, and we can sort out which one you need at the consult.
Lip augmentation is an FDA-approved use for hyaluronic acid fillers in adults 22 and older. The FDA's page on dermal fillers explains the risks in plain language. Based on that guidance, wait or bring it up at your consult if:
The FDA lists bruising, redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, and itching as common filler side effects, and says many clear up within days to weeks. The most serious risk is filler getting into a blood vessel. The FDA calls that chance low, but it can cause tissue damage, vision problems including blindness, or stroke. Get care right away for unusual pain, any change in your vision, or skin near the injection site that turns white, gray, or blue. That's the reason lip filler belongs with a licensed provider in a medical setting. You can look up my license on the North Carolina Board of Nursing site.
I can't tell you how much filler you need or how long it will last for you. Both depend on your lips, the product we choose, and how your body breaks it down. I find out at the consult and the two-week check. If lips are one part of a bigger picture, facial balancing looks at the whole face. The full services menu lists everything else I do.

It depends on the product and the person. The FDA says filler longevity depends on the material and where it is injected, and absorbable fillers break down over time.
