Dermal filler in Birkdale, NC works best as a plan over time, not a one-day transformation. I'm Kat Chapman, BSN, RN. I live in Birkdale, I use hyaluronic acid (HA) filler at Canvas & Glow on Sam Furr Road in Huntersville, and every treatment is done under the supervision of a medical director.

I don't inject in Birkdale Village. Appointments are at Canvas & Glow on Sam Furr Road in Huntersville. I work there; I don't own it. Call or text (704) 584-9785.

Every visit in a filler plan is done under the supervision of a medical director. I'm the licensed RN doing the injection, following physician-directed protocols. My medical director has 23 years of practice and about 12 years in aesthetics. You can look up my license on the North Carolina Board of Nursing site.
Faces change slowly, and the most natural filler follows the same pace. My usual pattern is a conservative first treatment, a check at two weeks, and then a conversation about what, if anything, comes next. Some people stop after one area. Others add a second area months later, once they've lived with the first.
I live in Birkdale, and many of the people I treat are neighbors. Going slowly is how I make sure they still look like themselves.
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Consult | We look at your whole face and decide where to start, or whether to start at all |
| First treatment | Small, conservative amounts in one area or a few |
| Two-week follow-up | Included; I check the settled result and adjust at no charge if needed |
| Later visits | Only if you want them: a touch-up, or the next area on the plan |
Hyaluronic acid (HA) filler, and the brand is Juvéderm. Different HA fillers do different jobs, and I pick the right one at your consult. HA fillers are reversible, which is part of why I'm comfortable starting small.
Filler is priced per syringe and quoted at your free consult. A staged plan spreads the cost across visits, and I can quote the full plan up front so you see the whole picture. See the pricing page. Financing through Cherry and CareCredit is available for treatment plans.
Most people feel pressure and a few pinches. Some fillers already contain lidocaine, a numbing medicine, and we talk through numbing at your consult.
The FDA says how long a filler lasts depends on the filler material and where it's injected, and that absorbable fillers break down over time, so the treatment may need repeating. That's why I think of filler as a plan: you'll likely revisit it, and we decide together when.
Expect some swelling for a few days and a possible bruise. Most people go back to their day after the visit. If you have plans or photos coming up, book at least two weeks ahead.
We talk about what's changed and what you'd like, and I look at your face from the front and the side, at rest and moving. You leave the consult with a plan, a price, and no pressure. If you'd like to start that day, we can usually treat the same visit.
The FDA's page on dermal fillers explains the risks. Wait if you're under 22, since the FDA approves dermal fillers for adults 22 and older, or if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, because the FDA says filler safety there is unknown. If the skin where we'd treat is inflamed or infected, including acne, a rash, or hives, we reschedule. Tell me about a bleeding disorder, severe allergies or past anaphylaxis, a lidocaine allergy, or a tendency to form keloids or raised scars.
The FDA lists bruising, redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, and itching as common dermal filler side effects and says many clear up within days to weeks. The most serious risk is filler getting into a blood vessel. The FDA calls that chance low, but it can cause tissue damage, vision problems including blindness, or stroke. Get care right away for unusual pain, any change in your vision, or skin near the injection site that turns white, gray, or blue.
