Dermal filler in Davidson, NC fixes volume, and a lot of what people bring to a filler consult turns out to be movement instead. I'm Kat Chapman, BSN, RN. I sort out which is which at Canvas & Glow on Sam Furr Road in Huntersville, under the supervision of a medical director.

Filler and neurotoxin are both done under the supervision of a medical director. I'm the licensed RN doing the injection, following physician-directed protocols. My medical director has 23 years of practice and about 12 years in aesthetics. You can look up my license on the North Carolina Board of Nursing site.
Filler doesn't stop a muscle from moving. Lines that only show when you frown, squint, or raise your brows come from movement, and those are usually a job for neurotoxin. Neurotoxins are $13 per unit, and the details are on Botox in Davidson.
Filler is for what's there when your face is still: hollows, flat areas, a lack of structure. A quick way to think about it:
| What you notice | Usually points to |
|---|---|
| A line that appears only with an expression | Neurotoxin |
| A line or fold that stays when your face is relaxed | Possibly filler, sometimes both |
| A hollow or flat area | Filler |
| A soft or undefined contour | Filler |
Plenty of people need a little of each. I'll tell you which, and in what order.
Everything filler-related here means hyaluronic acid (HA) filler, and the brand I use is Juvéderm. HA fillers are reversible. Filler is priced per syringe and quoted at your free consult. Neurotoxin is $13 per unit. If your plan includes both, you see both numbers before anything is booked. The pricing page has the full menu. Financing through Cherry and CareCredit is available for treatment plans.
Filler is mostly pressure. Some fillers contain lidocaine, a numbing medicine. Neurotoxin is a quick pinch from a very fine needle.
The FDA says how long a filler lasts depends on the filler material and where it's injected, and that absorbable fillers break down over time, so the treatment may need repeating. Neurotoxin wears off on its own timeline, which I cover on the Botox page.
Filler can leave you a little swollen for a few days, and bruising happens sometimes. You can usually go straight back to work. Anything important on the calendar should be two weeks out. Neurotoxin has no real downtime.
I watch your face at rest and while you talk and make expressions. That's how I tell a volume problem from a movement problem. Then I tell you what I'd use, where, and what it costs. Nothing happens until you agree, and your two-week follow-up is included.
Before you book anywhere, read the FDA's page on dermal fillers. These are the reasons I'd ask you to wait or talk it through first:
The FDA lists bruising, redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, and itching as common dermal filler side effects and says many clear up within days to weeks. The most serious risk is filler getting into a blood vessel. The FDA calls that chance low, but it can cause tissue damage, vision problems including blindness, or stroke. Get care right away for unusual pain, any change in your vision, or skin near the injection site that turns white, gray, or blue.
Whether your line is a volume line, a movement line, or both. For a plan that uses each where it fits, see facial balancing in Davidson, or the services page.
