I'm the licensed RN doing the injection, and every treatment is done under the supervision of a medical director. My medical director has 23 years of practice and about 12 years in aesthetics. You can look up my license on the North Carolina Board of Nursing site.
It's a non-surgical plan that looks at your face as a whole. Instead of treating the one feature you came in about, I look at how your cheeks, chin, jawline, lips, and under-eyes sit together, then use hyaluronic acid (HA) filler for structure and neurotoxin for movement where each helps. Some people call it facial rebalancing. The goal is that nobody can point to what changed.
Before you book with anyone, these are fair questions:
The FDA's dermal filler dos and don'ts covers more. My answers: I do the injection, under the supervision of a medical director. I use HA filler for most areas, and HA fillers are reversible. The filler I use is Juvéderm. The two-week follow-up is included.
Facial balancing is quoted at your free consult. Filler is priced per syringe, and neurotoxins are $13 per unit. You get the full number before anything is booked. The pricing page shows how each part is priced.
Expect pressure and some pinches. Swelling can last a few days after filler, and bruising is possible. Most people go back to work the same day.
Neurotoxin may be repeated every 3 to 4 months, according to MedlinePlus. Filler lasts longer, and how long depends on the product, the area, and your body.
The consult is free. I look at your face from the front and side, at rest and moving, go over your health history, and walk you through what I'd do first and what I'd leave alone. If you'd like to start the same day, we usually can. You come back at two weeks, and adjustments are made at no charge.
Tell me if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, under 22, have an infection or rash where we'd treat, or have a bleeding disorder or severe allergies. The FDA lists bruising, redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, and itching as common dermal filler side effects and says many clear up within days to weeks. The most serious risk is filler getting into a blood vessel. The FDA calls that chance low, but it can cause tissue damage, vision problems including blindness, or stroke. Get care right away for unusual pain, any change in your vision, or skin near the injection site that turns white, gray, or blue.
