Lip flip in Cornelius, NC changes your smile more than your lips at rest, and knowing that up front keeps expectations right. I'm Kat Chapman, BSN, RN. It's 4 to 6 units of neurotoxin at $13 per unit, done at Canvas & Glow on Sam Furr Road in Huntersville, under the supervision of a medical director.

Every lip flip I do is under the supervision of a medical director. I do the injection myself as the licensed RN, following physician-directed protocols. My medical director has 23 years of practice and about 12 years in aesthetics. You can look up my license on the North Carolina Board of Nursing site.
| Moment | What changes after a flip |
|---|---|
| Smiling | More of the top lip shows instead of rolling under |
| Talking | A slightly softer upper lip line for some people |
| At rest | Often very little |
| Lip size | No change; nothing is added |
If you look in the mirror with a straight face two weeks later and wonder what changed, that's normal. Smile, and you'll see it.
These get mixed up. A lip flip is about the top lip curling in. A gummy smile, where a lot of gum shows when you smile, is a different concern that I also treat with neurotoxin, and I'll tell you which one you're seeing. Wanting more lip, even at rest, is a volume question, and that's HA filler for lip volume. At the consult I'll tell you which one fits what you're seeing.
A lip flip is 4 to 6 units on my pricing page. At $13 per unit, that's $52 to $78. You pay for the units used, and I confirm the count at your free consult. Other neurotoxin areas the same day are also $13 per unit; see Botox in Cornelius.
Expect a few quick, sharp pinches. The lip is more sensitive than other areas, but the injections take a couple of minutes.
Most people go straight back to their day. A small bump, some redness, or a bruise where the needle went in can show for a short while.
You'll see it build over several days and settle by about two weeks. MedlinePlus says cosmetic Botox for frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet may be repeated every 3 to 4 months, depending on how long the effect lasts. That guidance covers those areas, not this one, so I won't promise a number.
The FDA prescribing information for Botox Cosmetic lists the approved cosmetic areas: frown lines, crow's feet, forehead lines, and neck (platysma) bands. The upper lip isn't on that list, so this is an off-label use. Off-label use is common in aesthetics, and I'd rather tell you up front than have you find out later.
I ask you to smile, talk, and relax your face while I watch the upper lip. If a flip will make a visible difference, I tell you the units and the price, and we can usually do it that visit. If it won't, I'll say so. At your two-week follow-up I can add a unit or two at no charge.
Botox and Dysport are prescription drugs. MedlinePlus summarizes the patient information for onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) and abobotulinumtoxinA (Dysport). Hold off and tell me at your consult if:
