Medical director supervision

The price covers treatment done under the supervision of a medical director. I'm the licensed RN doing the injection, and I follow physician-directed protocols. My medical director has 23 years of practice and about 12 years in aesthetics. You can look up my license on the North Carolina Board of Nursing site.

How Sculptra pricing works

My pricing page lists Sculptra per session, quoted at consult. I don't post a number online because the per-session price alone doesn't tell you much. What moves the total:

  • How much volume loss there is and across how much of the face.
  • How many sessions it takes to get there.
  • Whether part of the plan is better handled with HA filler instead.

At the consult you get both pieces: the per-session price and the number of sessions I'd expect. Then you can decide with the full figure in front of you.

Paying for a plan over time

Because sessions are spread out, so is the cost. Financing through Cherry and CareCredit is available for treatment plans.

What you're paying for

PLLA, a biostimulator that helps your body build collagen over time. The FDA says PLLA effects generally show up gradually over several weeks and may last up to 2 years.

What it can't do

It can't be undone. The FDA notes that fillers not made of materials such as hyaluronic acid can be difficult or impossible to remove. Put plainly, HA filler can be dissolved, and Sculptra can't. It also isn't a quick fix for one feature.

Does it hurt?

Pressure and a few pinches. Some fillers contain lidocaine, a numbing medicine.

Downtime

Swelling and maybe a bruise for a few days after each session. Most people go back to their day.

How long it lasts

The FDA says PLLA effects may last up to 2 years. I can't promise that for any one face.

Your first visit

A free consult with no obligation. You leave with a written plan and a total, or with me telling you something else would work better.

Is it safe?

Before you book anywhere, read the FDA's page on dermal fillers. These are the reasons I'd ask you to wait or talk it through first:

  • Under 22: the FDA approves dermal fillers for adults 22 and older.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding: the FDA says filler safety is unknown during both.
  • Acne, a rash, hives, or infection where we'd inject.
  • A bleeding disorder, severe allergies, past anaphylaxis, or a lidocaine allergy.
  • A history of keloids or raised scars.

The FDA lists bruising, redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, and itching as common dermal filler side effects and says many clear up within days to weeks. The most serious risk is filler getting into a blood vessel. The FDA calls that chance low, but it can cause tissue damage, vision problems including blindness, or stroke. Get care right away for unusual pain, any change in your vision, or skin near the injection site that turns white, gray, or blue.
